Ohio University Brick Reliefs
2015 / Tad Gallaugher, Brad Spencer, et al. / Athens
Two brick relief sculptures depict buildings and iconic emblems found on the Ohio University campus. Constructed using 1,750 bricks, they adorn two of the walls that surrounds the large generator that serves the nearby South Green residence halls and Student Living Learning center. The structure can be found off of South Green Drive, next to Adams Hall. The south side relief measures 16’4” x 8’8” while the east side piece is 28’8” x 8’8”.
The pieces were designed by retired OU employee, Tad Gallaugher, and chiseled and carved by Brad and Tammy Spencer. (Credit on the plaque is given to Brad only, but the video of the construction shows both spouses working on the reliefs.)
