This is a stately Doughboy statue with impressive detail. The soldier is holding a hand grenade in one hand and a rifle in the other. This monument is located inside the Grandview Cemetery, Salem, Ohio. Medium: Cast metal statue on a cement base.

The base of the statue reads" The Eagle Bronze Works in Mt. Vernon N.Y. ". On the cement base is a bronze plaque that reads "IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN FROM SALEM, OHIO WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WAR AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE. LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE THAT THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN".
