Civil War Monument of Veteran Park

This massive monument stands erect in Trumbull county's Veteran Park. The sculpture memorializes the fallen Union men of the Civil War and depicts three military men: one at the top and two on either side.

The soldier atop the long column holds a flag upright in his proper left hand and begins to unsheathe his sword with his proper right hand from his left hip. The soldier to the right of the column stand in a relaxed contrapposto stance with his proper left hand on his hip. The soldier to the left of the column stands straight with both hands resting on the barrel of his upward-pointing gun.

Each of the four sides of the sculpture feature relief carvings of the following text:

Front: Dedicated July 4th 1890. To the men of Warren who fought to conquer the Rebellion and preserve the Union of the states. This monument is erected that their example may speak to coming generations. (below) VICKSBURG CHICKAMAUGA ATLANTA

Left: ALDIE WILSONSRAID

Back: The citizens of Warren gratefully commemorate the patriotism and heroic bravery of the men who offered their lives for their country's sake. (below) GETTYSBURG SHILOH STONE RIVER

Right: MOBILE ISLAND No. TEN
