Grant Georgetown VetHome.jpeg

This bronze statue of Ulysses S. Grant was dedicated at the Ohio Veterans Home of Georgetown on August 21, 2004 and was obtained through a bequest of John & Dorothy Kueck (John was an employee of the facility). The statue is surrounded by a walkway of memorial bricks dedicated to various veterans.

Grant was born in Point Pleasant, OH and lived in Georgetown as a child. Along with the Native Son statue in the Georgetown Village Square, this work makes Georgetown one of only two cities in the world to have two statues of Grant (the other is Washington, D.C.).
