A rough-hewn 7-foot tall figure of John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, carved into the stump of a deceased ash tree with a chainsaw. The figure is holding a long-handled tool in his left hand with its head resting on the ground in front of him. He has bare feet and is wearing a backwards pot on his head.
Stands in the northeastern portion of the Sunbury Village Square, in front of the Old Sunbury Courthouse.
