Bridge to Knowledge
1984 / David E. Davis / Beachwood
Row of stainless steel tetrahedra, representing wedge shaped cuneiform, supported on a horizontal beam, which sits atop a 40' bridge, which rested on 3 earth mounds covered in myrtle, repeating the motif of the building's serpentine wall. The three mounds, representing the knowledge of Ohio's early Mound Builder culture, were later combined into one mound by the library, reportedly to facilitate grounds maintenance.
