This bronze bust of John Rankin was created by his granddaughter, Ella Rankin Copp, and sits atop the granite grave marker of Rankin and his wife Jane in Maplewood Cemetery (Ripley, OH). It was dedicated in 1892. Rankin, a Presbyterian minister, was a well-known abolitionist and member of the Underground Railroad network.
