A monument to General Phillip Henry Sheridan who was raised in Somerset, Ohio. He was best known for his involvement at the Battle of Cedar Creek in the Civil War, the subject of the poem "Sheridan's Ride," which inspired this sculpture. The sculpture depicts Sheridan on a rearing horse, waving his hat in the air.
