Jaunty Hornbeam
2009 / Joseph Wheelwright / Dublin
A very tall very thin figure with arms outstretched, seeming to walk, with long "hair" sticking out from the head. The effect is of an anthropomorphic hornbeam tree.
The sculpture was acquired by the Dublin Arts Council through an exhibition called Titration 3: Rock, Paper, Sculpture. This, along with Sanguine Standing Stone, remained permanent public installations in Dublin by virtue of a public vote.
