Gargoyle Urns
2000 / Creator Unknown / Toledo
Two large stone urns, carved in the shape of pumpkins, have faces carved into the sides. There is some question as to whether the fruit sitting on top was originally part of these sculptures.
Acquired by Mrs. Barbara McKelvy’s mother-in-law from Europe in the 1940s.
Location: Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr. | Previous Location: McKelvy residence on River Road in Perrysburg, Ohio (Wood County). A 1929 French chateau style home facing the Maumee River.
