Pete Rose
2017 / Tom Tsuchiya / Cincinnati
This bronze sculpture of Pete Rose depicts him in his trademark headfirst slide into base. Cincinnati sculptor Tom Tsuchiya (who created several other works installed at Great American Ballpark and elsewhere in the Cincinnati area) worked with GE Aviation engineers Tom Wallace and Brent Tholke on the practical aspects of creating the work. The cantilever design employs a steel support structure and foam beneath the bronze exterior.
