Goldie Bell Taylor Sculpture
1886 / Creator Unknown / Salem
This sculpture is a memorial to Salem's Goldie Bell Taylor. The little girl was two years old girl when she died in 1886 from iron poisoning. Her father Jacob sold his farm just to pay for the statue at her gravesite at a cost of $4000. A mysterious element surrounds the sculpture as flowers have been laid upon the sculpture for many generations. No certainty as to who brings the flowers is known.
